God is Good All the Time
God is truly good all the time. “But bad things still happen!” you exclaim. Yes, they do, but God is not just a gumball machine to give us our selected price at our beckon call. He uses the circumstances of this fallen world to shape us into His Likeness with each passing day. Why doesn’t He just fix it all? He will, I promise. The thing is that the day is coming when there will be no sickness, no financial stresses, no death, no war, no political battles over ideology, no hunger, and no pain. Until that day He loves to use the falleness of this world to mold and shape us into His Likeness so that when that day arrives we can have greater communion with Him.
Seven years ago, Satan himself made a personal attack in trying to destroy our family. He hates that we are a family that seeks to serve the Lord. We are a man and woman married in Godly wedlock raising our children to value God’s mandates for marriage rather than the world’s definition. We are a family following His commands to take food grown His way to feed his people. We are a family that chooses to homeschool our children so that we may train them up hour by hour to glorify and honor their King and Savior.
He used the forces of this world and waged war. The casualties of the battle were the loss of our home and farm, our local church body, friends through moves and even death, our credit, and the health of us and our family. We were afflicted, but yet not destroyed.
But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God and not of us. We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed. (2 Corinthians 4:7-9).
Our marriage endured, our family stood, and our faith was stretched, because He never left us nor forsook us (Deuteronomy 31:8). Our children were changed, but no destroyed. They have seen the faithful hand of God in His provision for our needs not in the glitz and glimmer of a Santa Claus like experience, but His enduring love, grace, and mercy. They know that when life stinks, and it will, that He is enough!
Today, God restored unto us much of what was taken seven years ago and reminded us of His promises even His promise of this very restoration through the Year of the Jubilee at this seven year measure of time. Today, the papers were signed to give the Double O Farms a home once again. When we wake up tomorrow, we will celebrate the 9 year anniversary of when we began the Double O Farms Cowshare Program and be reminded that what God puts together no one can destroy before His ordained hour if we are faithful to His Will and Statues.
